I am super proud of Dj Chipman (a Miami Dj Legend) and I am glad that we were able to work on this deal and get it done. Big shout out to the creative team at mcgarry/bowen and especially Kaylyn who did the hard work of making sense of a unique licensing situation.

For the sixth year, Rick Ross Charities spreads some holiday love in the city of Miami Gardens.

The drive was filmed in my neighborhood at Scott Park (the park I grew up on) and it speaks to the diversity of our neighborhood. As State Senator Oscar Braynon II states “We are all bruhs and grew up in the same neighborhood. A politician, an athlete and a rapper.”

It was like that in Miami Gardens…It was one of those neighborhoods during the 70′s and 80′s where you moved to as soon as you got a little bit money. When me moved there, we were fresh out of Liberty City and only the 2nd Black family on the block. Over time the white neighbors faded and a new crop of aspirational black neighbors moved in. By the late 80s You had a good mix of influences from Lawyers to crackheads. But the good thing is a lot of those positive influences are still there now working to grow the community. So its good to see Ross & NFL Baller Mike McKenzie playing their roles in that process.

This is a piece we shot for Haute Living Magazine during their December/January cover shoot with Carmello Anthony.

The interview you see was totally unscripted and impromptu as Swizz came through the shoot just to show Melo some love. There were no PR agents, just two cats rapping. With that said I really respected how Melo handled the questions as straightforward as he could given the lockout negotiations were still in effect.

What I also love about these two is that they are both present fathers and Melo makes mention of how he decided to go ahead and change his number to 7 being that his son was born on the 7th. #proudpapa
