For the sixth year, Rick Ross Charities spreads some holiday love in the city of Miami Gardens. The drive was filmed in my neighborhood at Scott Park (the park I grew up on) and it speaks to the diversity of our neighborhood. As State Senator Oscar Braynon II states “We are all bruhs and grew up in the same neighborhood. A politician, an athlete and a rapper.”
It was like that in Miami Gardens…It was one of those neighborhoods during the 70′s and 80′s where you moved to as soon as you got a little bit money. When me moved there, we were fresh out of Liberty City and only the 2nd Black family on the block. Over time the white neighbors faded and a new crop of aspirational black neighbors moved in. By the late 80s You had a good mix of influences from Lawyers to crackheads. But the good thing is a lot of those positive influences are still there now working to grow the community. So its good to see Ross & NFL Baller Mike McKenzie playing their roles in that process.
SL Looking Good!!
