When I was in sales I made this my Mantra. I figured if I focused on getting one deal done every day, I’ll never have to worry about the quota, and it worked too. The focused energy you create by hitting that one deal keeps you from worrying about the big picture, and all the while the little hits are adding up. A lot of times we get caught up looking at the bigger picture and forget about the little pieces that make up the whole. We look at the total amount of the bills, or the quota and it looks scary sometimes.
Of course you won’t get a deal “done” everyday but the exercise of getting them in motion creates a habit, and by the time you get the habit the deals will start closing.The next thing you know your closing 2-3 deals one day, so the days you don’t get any it’s still all good.
